The Bankura Unnayani Institute of Engineering (BUIE) is located in Bankura, West Bengal, India. Shri Jyoti Basu,the then Chief Minister, Government of West Bengal inaugurated the institute on 19 September 1998.BUIE is affiliated to West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT). The college is approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India and Directorate of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal. The following undergraduate degree programmes are offered The duration of all the above programs are four years except MCA.It is a 3 years course The syllabus and curriculum is structured by W.B.U.T. Admission to the courses happens on an annual basis. The number of seats allotted is based on the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination(85% of the total intake)conducted by the Central Selection Committee Engineering and Technology. Qualified candidates are taken through AIEEE/CET (state conducted test/university tests)/Association conducted test separately.Through AIEEE entrance(15% of the total intake).
