Cumbernauld College

Cumbernauld College is a higher and further education college in central Scotland. Cumbernauld College serves the communities of both North Lanarkshire and East Dunbartonshire, and has campuses in both Cumbernauld and Kirkintilloch, as well as further key outreach centres in Kilsyth, Airdrie, Wishaw, Coatbridge, Lennoxtown, Croy, Milngavie, Bishopbriggs and Moodiesburn. Courses are offered at all levels from leisure non-certificated courses, through introductory/access level, NQ/NC, HNC and HND, to degree level. Subjects taught include: The Training Unit delivers a range of government-funded programmes to enable individuals to enter into sustainable employment. These include: The main campus building was completed in 1978 as Cumbernauld Technical College, to designs by the Glasgow architectural practice Gillespie, Kidd & Coia. The original building is category B listed. In August 2006, Cumbernauld College completed an extensive phased refurbishment and new build programme at the main campus. A window replacement scheme, renewal of lighting and heating systems, and internal space reconfiguration complement a new 2,250-square-metre (24,200 sq ft), three-story teaching block.

  • Maria Ly is quite literally a Rock Star. You’ll often find her hanging off a 5.13a grade rock climbing route, she is the rock star co-founder of Skimble (which is incubated by Rock Health), and you can find her rock formation photography featured in Outside Magazine.

  • March 13, 1988 was the day we moved to America. Although it wasn't my first time in the country, that date was the beginning of my journey through the American school system. Those eleven years filled me with a lifetime of great memories.
