Dublin Business School

Dublin Business School (DBS) incorporating Portobello College is the largest independent college in Ireland. With over 9,000 students, DBS provides a range of full-time and part-time undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, with courses for 2010/2011 in subject areas such as business, law, event management, IT, the arts, media studies and psychology. DBS was founded in 1975 and was originally known as Accountancy and Business College. In 1999 Dublin Business School acquired LSB College Dublin. In 2003, DBS was taken over by Kaplan Inc, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Washington Post Company. In 2006, DBS bought European Business School (EBS), a collective of eight independent business schools located throughout Europe. Paul Connolly an international singer/songwriter coming to fame when he composed the FIFA World Cup 2010 Anthem. Irish personality and Q102 radio presenter Ray Shah attended the school in the graduate year of 2003, just before he auditioned for Big Brother 4. The Dublin Business School has six locations around Dublin. Its main campus is located in Aungier Street, and other locations include Balfe Street, Dame Street and South Great George's Street.

  • Maria Ly is quite literally a Rock Star. You’ll often find her hanging off a 5.13a grade rock climbing route, she is the rock star co-founder of Skimble (which is incubated by Rock Health), and you can find her rock formation photography featured in Outside Magazine.

  • March 13, 1988 was the day we moved to America. Although it wasn't my first time in the country, that date was the beginning of my journey through the American school system. Those eleven years filled me with a lifetime of great memories.

  • Mayank is an inventor and zebra-enthusiast. He developed Stripespotter, a biological barcode scanner for zebras, and is a part of the team behind Facebook insights. By way of India to Oman to the US, Mayank can be found behind the wheel of a red Porsche dreaming up his next big idea.
