Heritage Institute of Technology, popularly known as HITK is a renowned private engineering college, located in Anandapur, Kolkata near the East Kolkata Township, in West Bengal, India.. It is affiliated to West Bengal University of Technology, Kolkata (WBUT). It is one of the top ranked private engineering institutions in the West Bengal, India. HITK was set up in the eastern fringes of Kolkata in 2001 by a group of Kolkata based eminent industrialists in in the flourishing IT, electronics & related industries and renowned public figures. The foundation behind HIT is the Kalyan Bharti Trust. The mission of this trust is to promote education, to nourish the students with rich cultural heritage of India. To meet the growing demand of technical manpower and in view of fiscal constraints at the government level, the Kalyan Bharti Trust decided to supplement the State government’s efforts in setting up new engineering colleges by establishing the Heritage Institute of Technology in September 2000. At present, it offers Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech.), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) courses at the undergraduate level.
