Lalbhai Dalpatram College of Engineering

Lalbhai Dalpatbhai College of Engineering (LDCE or LD) (the title of the page wrongly displays "Dalpatram"), located in Ahmedabad, is an engineering college in India . It was established in 1948 by Kasturbhai Lalbhai, and is named after his father. It is administered by the Department of Technical Education Government of Gujarat. The campus has departments, offices, hostels, and library, with 38,000 m² plinth area. The college is the center for merit based state wide admission/placement for engineering and pharmacy students. It is adjacent to the Gujarat University building and around the periphery of national level institutes such as Physical Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad Textile Industry's Research Association, and Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. The institute was established in 1948 with a donation of Rs. 25 lacs and 31.2 hectares of land by the textile magnate Sheth Shri Kasturbhai Lalbhai, hence the college was named Lalbhai Dalpatbhai College of Engineering. The institute started with 75 students in Civil, Mechanical and Electrical undergraduate programs, and was affiliated to Bombay University.
