Senior College Dún Laoghaire (SCD) is a college of further education which was established in 1982 under the statutory authority of the Dún Laoghaire Vocational Education Committee. It is one of three such colleges in the Dun Laoghaire area, the others being Dun Laoghaire College of Further Education and Sallynoggin College of Further Education. The college developed rapidly and was soon providing Accounting, Marketing, Business, Beautician, Interactive Media and Interior Design courses for full-time and part-time students. The College is now one of the largest educational providers in the Further Education (FE) sector and offers full-time and mornings only courses. The college provides awards at FETAC Levels 5 and 6 as well as BTEC/Edexcel Higher National Diploma/Certificate etc. SCD continues to offer a wide range of professional programmes with professional bodies such as Accounting Technicians Ireland, CompTIA, and ITEC to name but a few. Senior College Dún Laoghaire is located in the historic town of Dún Laoghaire, 10 kilometres from Dublin City Centre.
