UEI College is a career education school that specializes in automobile, business, computer, dental, medical, and pharmacy professions. The school was founded in 1982 as United Education Institute, and changed its name to UEI College in 2009. It has multiple locations in Central California and Southern California, and other locations in Florida and Georgia. UEI College is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET). The Gardena, California location is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC), which is a national accrediting organization in the United States that provides accreditation to non-university postsecondary colleges. UEI College is not accredited by a regionally accredited body like nearby San Diego State University (SDSU), University of San Diego (USD) or University of California San Diego (UCSD).
