„Vasile Goldiș” Western University of Arad (Romanian: Universitatea de Vest "Vasile Goldiș") is a private research university located in Arad, Romania. It was founded in 1990. Its spiritual patron is Vasile Goldiș, a Romanian politician, member of the Romanian Academy and the ideologist of the Great Union taking place on 1 December 1918. He died after a lifetime struggle to constitute a modern Romania. Vasile Goldiş West University was founded in 1990 with only two faculties: Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Marketing, Management and Computer Science. Subsequently new faculties completed the initial two. Now it has branches in Satu Mare, Baia Mare, Sebes, Zalau, Deva-Hunedoara, Marghita, Bistrita, Petrosani, Alba Iulia, Sighisoara, Orsova, Resita.
