West Virginia Wesleyan College

West Virginia Wesleyan College is a regionally accredited private, coeducational, liberal arts college in Buckhannon, West Virginia, United States. It has an enrollment of about 1,400 students from 35 U.S. states and 26 countries. The school was founded in 1890 by the West Virginia Conference of the United Methodist church. The college assumed its current name on Tuesday June 5, 1906. (See expanded History.) U.S. News & World Report considers West Virginia Wesleyan a national liberal arts college and ranks it in the second tier. The college claims that its business major and MBA are accredited by the International Assembly of Collegiate Business Education (IACBE). However, the IACBE itself is not recognized by U.S. higher education authorities as a higher education accreditor. Wesleyan was listed as one of the "Best Southeastern Colleges" by the Princeton Review in 2005, 2007 and 2009, and a "Best-Value College" in 2006 and 2007. Wesleyan is one of 150 schools to receive that distinction . Wesleyan continues to serve as a residential, liberal arts college. The primary majors are elementary and secondary education, business, and natural sciences.

  • Maria Ly is quite literally a Rock Star. You’ll often find her hanging off a 5.13a grade rock climbing route, she is the rock star co-founder of Skimble (which is incubated by Rock Health), and you can find her rock formation photography featured in Outside Magazine.

  • March 13, 1988 was the day we moved to America. Although it wasn't my first time in the country, that date was the beginning of my journey through the American school system. Those eleven years filled me with a lifetime of great memories.
