Brown Mackie College – Findlay in Findlay, Ohio, is a member of the Brown Mackie College system of schools, a collection of private, for-profit educational institutions for career preparation in the business, legal, health sciences, information technology, and creative fields. The Brown Mackie College system of schools has 22 locations throughout the United States, and has a total enrollment of 9,078 students (as of fall 2006). The Brown Mackie College schools are owned by Education Management Corporation, based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Brown Mackie College schools provide bachelor’s degree, associate’s degree, diploma, and certificate programs. Educational accreditation of the Brown Mackie College schools’ programs varies among schools. Brown Mackie College — Findlay was founded in 1926 by William H. Stautzenberger to provide solid business education at a reasonable cost. In 1960, the college was acquired by George R. Hawes, who served as its president until 1969. In the following years, it was operated by other school organizations until reacquired by Hawes in 1978. In September 1997, the college was acquired by Stautzenberger College Education Corporation.
