Maria Ly is quite literally a Rock Star. You’ll often find her hanging off a 5.13a grade rock climbing route, she is the rock star co-founder of Skimble (which is incubated by Rock Health), and you can find her rock formation photography featured in Outside Magazine.

I greatly enjoyed my time at St. Andrews. I made some great friends and learned about British culture. As a location for an American studying abroad, it has pros and cons. If you are looking for a small town experience and really want to immerse yourself in British culture, then it is perfect. I made and retained many British friends, and unlike some study abroad programs, I felt very integrated into the school and community. However, given that I was so surrounded by British students, I didn't do as much traveling as my friends did who went to schools with a higher percentage of American students. Trying to get a bunch of Brits to go visit other Scottish cities is as hard as it is to get a bunch of American students in LA, New York or Chicago to go visit San Francisco, Boston or Milwaukee for the weekend. It's just not something they will make a priority. The small town aspect is something to consider. Its not easy to get out of St. Andrews for weekend travel. And there isn't as much to do (besides drink) as there would be in larger cities. You will not be bored as students are very social. But you aren't going to get the range of activities that you might get in a larger city. The accommodations are good. I felt totally safe, welcome and supported. I don't think international students will lack for what they need. It is just a very authentic British experience, and as an American that might be a little more quiet than you are used to if you go to school in a bigger city.

March 13, 1988 was the day we moved to America. Although it wasn't my first time in the country, that date was the beginning of my journey through the American school system. Those eleven years filled me with a lifetime of great memories.

It was one of the best educational experiences
It was really nice to attend such a great university, I like the environment and faculty of the University of Health Sciences Antigua.
Studying at St. Andrews was one of the best choices I have ever made.
I went to FSU on an athletic scholarship having finished a degree at Stirling University in Scotland.
