Aitken College is an independent, co-educational day school of the Uniting Church located in Greenvale, Victoria, Australia. It offers schooling from Grade Prep through to Year 12. The principal of the school is Mrs Josie Crisara, the assistant principal Mr Kim Forward. The college opened in 1999 and is built on an 18 hectares (44.5 acres) site. The college is divided into five smaller "schools": The school is divided into four houses: At the year levels there are core subjects, which are the subjects which are compulsory for the student to study. At certain year levels there are also elective subjects which are optional. From year 7 students learn Indonesian as a Language Other Than English (LOTE). Electives available at Year Nine: Students choose electives through a web preferences database. In Year 8 and 9 a student is assigned two electives each semester. In Year 8, students are given one period a week (or two periods per fortnight) for their electives. More time is given in further years. Art rooms, science laboratories, computer laboratories, technology facilities, music rooms, a library and a gymnasium as well as a new performing arts centre.
