Anahuac University

The Universidad Anáhuac México Norte was founded in 1964 as a central institution belonging to the Legion of Christ Educational Project. It offers more than 28 undergraduate programs, and more than 40 postgraduate programs. Anáhuac means "near the water" in Nahuatl, the ancient Aztec language spoken in Tenochtitlan, which used to be the biggest and most crowded place in Central America, and now Mexico City, the home of the university. The University has been distinguished lately due to the investment of more than $54 million dollars since 1990 into the campus. A library with more than 200,000 books, one of the biggest in Mexico, is one of its best accomplishments. In sports, the Anáhuac's soccer team, Pegaso Anáhuac is in the Mexican Primera A (professional football second division). Universidad Anahuac in turn is part of the Anahuac Universities Network, an international network of Catholic universities led by the Legionaries of Christ, which share a mission and an educational model. It is made up of universities at an international level with ten institutions in Mexico, one in Chile, one in Spain, two in Italy and two more in United States.

  • Maria Ly is quite literally a Rock Star. You’ll often find her hanging off a 5.13a grade rock climbing route, she is the rock star co-founder of Skimble (which is incubated by Rock Health), and you can find her rock formation photography featured in Outside Magazine.

  • March 13, 1988 was the day we moved to America. Although it wasn't my first time in the country, that date was the beginning of my journey through the American school system. Those eleven years filled me with a lifetime of great memories.

  • Mayank is an inventor and zebra-enthusiast. He developed Stripespotter, a biological barcode scanner for zebras, and is a part of the team behind Facebook insights. By way of India to Oman to the US, Mayank can be found behind the wheel of a red Porsche dreaming up his next big idea.
