Anugrah Narayan College (popularly known as A N College) is one of the premier co-educational institutions of the state of Bihar, India.It is a constituent unit of Magadh University Bodh Gaya.It was established in January, 1956.The first principal of the college was Dr. Gorak Nath Sinha , a great economist and contemporary officer of Dr. Hicks, a nobel laureate in Economics.A.N. College is most centrally located in Patna,the capital city of Bihar,India on 13 acres (53,000 m) of land in the posh locality of Patna on the main Boring-Patliputra road.It is affiliated to Magadh University.The college has 22 UG departments and 23 PG departments. It bears the pious name of reverend leader Bihar Vibhuti Dr. Anugrah Narayan Sinha,one of the founders of modern Bihar.Initially,the college was established in January 1956, at Patna High School as Gardanibagh Tutorial College, to be run in the evening shift with an objective to facilitate academic pursuits of employees working in various departments during day time and subsequently the college was renamed as Anugrah Narayan College (A.N. College)Patna.In1959, the college was shifted to Anisabad in a rental building.
