Bethany College

Bethany College, is a private liberal arts college located in the rolling hills of Bethany, West Virginia, United States. Founded in 1840, Bethany is one of West Virginia's oldest institutions of higher education. Bethany is a selective undergraduate institution located on 1,300 acres (5.3 km) in the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains, just one mile (1.6 km) from Pennsylvania and five miles (8 km) from Ohio. The historic town of Bethany is served by Pittsburgh International Airport, 45 minutes from campus. The College is located 39 miles (63 km) from downtown Pittsburgh, 22 miles (35 km) from Washington, Pa., and 14 miles (23 km) from Wheeling. The campus features rolling wooded hills and a lush, green academic mall. Facilities include historic landmarks, classrooms, spacious sports/recreational areas, indoor and outdoor theaters, art galleries, an equestrian center, a teaching greenhouse and more. The College operates the Mountainside Conference Center, which includes Gresham Inn, and also the Campbell Mansion and Museum.

  • Maria Ly is quite literally a Rock Star. You’ll often find her hanging off a 5.13a grade rock climbing route, she is the rock star co-founder of Skimble (which is incubated by Rock Health), and you can find her rock formation photography featured in Outside Magazine.

  • March 13, 1988 was the day we moved to America. Although it wasn't my first time in the country, that date was the beginning of my journey through the American school system. Those eleven years filled me with a lifetime of great memories.

  • Mayank is an inventor and zebra-enthusiast. He developed Stripespotter, a biological barcode scanner for zebras, and is a part of the team behind Facebook insights. By way of India to Oman to the US, Mayank can be found behind the wheel of a red Porsche dreaming up his next big idea.
