BRAC University (Bengali: ব্র্যাক বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়) is a private university in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The university was established by BRAC in 2001 under the Private University Act 1992. BRAC University had its first convocation in January 2006. Sir Fazle Hasan Abed, KCMG is the president of BRAC University. BRAC University's main campus is on 66 Mohakhali C/A in Dhaka 1212, Bangladesh. The Residential Campus at Savar is called TARC (Training and Resource Center). Now, it has grown to more than 3,700. The BRAC University library — the Ayesha Abed Library — has more than 35,000 books, a collection of print journals and other publications, and subscriptions to international academic journals.
