Bugema University (BUU) is a private Christian, co-educational Ugandan university. The university is affiliated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The university is located on a piece of land that measures 640 acres (2.6 km), located in Kalagala sub-county, Bamunanika county, Luweero District in central Uganda. The main campus is located approximately 32 kilometres (20 mi) by road, northeast of Kampala, Uganda's capital and largest city. The location is approximately 15 kilometres (9.3 mi), by road, south of the town of Ziroobwe, on the Gayaza-Ziroobwe Road. The institution started in 1948 as a training school for teachers and pastors for the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in East Africa. At that time it was called Bugema Missionary Training School. Later, the name changed to Bugema Missionary College and then to Bugema Adventist College. In 1978, the first class offering degrees graduated Bachelor of Theology. The college expanded and by the late 1980s curricula for Business and Education were added. In 1994, Bugema Adventist College changed its status from "college" to "university".

  • Maria Ly is quite literally a Rock Star. You’ll often find her hanging off a 5.13a grade rock climbing route, she is the rock star co-founder of Skimble (which is incubated by Rock Health), and you can find her rock formation photography featured in Outside Magazine.

  • March 13, 1988 was the day we moved to America. Although it wasn't my first time in the country, that date was the beginning of my journey through the American school system. Those eleven years filled me with a lifetime of great memories.

  • Mayank is an inventor and zebra-enthusiast. He developed Stripespotter, a biological barcode scanner for zebras, and is a part of the team behind Facebook insights. By way of India to Oman to the US, Mayank can be found behind the wheel of a red Porsche dreaming up his next big idea.
