California InterContinental University (formerly the California University of Technology) is a for-profit nationally accredited distance education institution of higher learning located in the state of California in the United States. It has programs in Business Administration, Information Technology, Management and Health care. California InterContinental University was first approved to operate as a degree granting university in the state of California in 2005 by the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education (BPPVE). After the sunset of the BPPVE legislation in July 2007, the university submitted a voluntary compliance letter to the department of Consumer Affairs. The letter ensured that the university would continue to uphold all student consumer protection provisions and to remain in full compliance with the state of California law as it existed on the date of the sunset of the legislation. CalUniversity was accredited by the Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council () in January 2009.
