Coombeshead College

Coombeshead College is a comprehensive school in Newton Abbot, Devon, England. It is primarily a media and arts college, having a total of over 1600 students. The school's music facilities include a recording studio. In addition to its teaching purposes, Coombeshead Studios has also been used by local bands to record their songs. Rock band Muse have also recorded some early material here. It is also one of the few schools in Britain to have a radio station, newsroom and TV studio as part of an art media centre. In the 2009/2010 school year Coombeshead College had record results with 52% of its students achieving 5 or more C or higher GCSE's including english and maths . The school sixth form outperformed many state and private providers in 2008/09 and has recently had another superb set of results 2009/10 with students successfully entering universities including Oxford, Cambridge, Durham and Edinburgh. In 2011 Spring Term Coombeshead College opend The Bushell open locally to the community.The Theater is used for the schools Expressive Arts Shows eg.Music Concerts;Drama Pays ect. website:http://online.coombeshead.devon.sch.

  • Maria Ly is quite literally a Rock Star. You’ll often find her hanging off a 5.13a grade rock climbing route, she is the rock star co-founder of Skimble (which is incubated by Rock Health), and you can find her rock formation photography featured in Outside Magazine.

  • March 13, 1988 was the day we moved to America. Although it wasn't my first time in the country, that date was the beginning of my journey through the American school system. Those eleven years filled me with a lifetime of great memories.

  • Mayank is an inventor and zebra-enthusiast. He developed Stripespotter, a biological barcode scanner for zebras, and is a part of the team behind Facebook insights. By way of India to Oman to the US, Mayank can be found behind the wheel of a red Porsche dreaming up his next big idea.
