The Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology, formerly known as CR State College of Engineering (CRSCE), Murthal started in 1987 and is the first government engineering college in the State of Haryana. The campus will also house the Central Institute of Plastics Engineering, established by the Act of Parliament shortly. Considered as the most prestigious Engineering college of the state, it is the only govt. engineering college apart from NIT Kurukshetra. The Institution started with Mechanical Engineering, and Electronics and Communication Engineering, with an intake of 30 students in each branch. Other disciplines were added and at present there are eight under graduate courses and three P.G. Courses. The undergraduate courses are Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication. Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Architecture, Bio-Technology, Bio-Medical. P.G. courses constitute Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, MBA (IT) and MBA(General). There is an intake of 370 students in under graduate courses and 66 in P.G. courses.
