CSI College of Engineering is situated in the Ketti Valley. It is 2 km off the Coonoor-Ooty highway from a point on the highway known as Yellanahalli. Yellanahalli is 12 km beyond Coonoor and 10 km before Ooty on the Coonoor-Ooty highway. The institution is a self-financed, Christian minority institution. It is run by the CSI Coimbatore Diocese and the current Bishop of the Diocese is the Chairman and Correspondent of the Institution. The institution is approved by the AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to the Anna University, Coimbatore. The institution was started in the year 1998. The current Principal of the Institution is Dr. S. J. Jeyapaulan, who has been the head of the Institution since its conception. The Rt. Rev. M. Dorai is the Chairman and Correspondent of the Institution since he is the current bishop in Coimbatore. The institution is well-recognised by its peers and locals in the surrounding Nilgiris district, although this may be because this is the only Engineering institution in the district which is affiliated to the Anna University.
