Gateway College, Sri Lanka

Gateway College is an international school in Sri Lanka, has four branches in Colombo, Kandy, Bambalapitiya and Negombo. Formally the Gateway International School, it was established by R. I. T. Alles former State Secretary of Education,founder of D.S. Senanayake College and a prominent educationist in Sri Lanka in 1989. It is member of the Gateway Group. Four acre Campus situated in Royal Gardens, Rajagiriya, provides teaching and learning for children from 2 ½ to 18 years of age. It has a blend of leading British Independent Schools architecture and Sri Lankan culture. Student population of the school has reached the capacity level of 2000. The student population of the school is 3500 students. In their early years of establishment, this school will eventually cater to all age groups. The school in Bambalapitiya is patronized by students living in the western and southern parts of Colombo in addition to the ones living in the coastal areas of Dehiwela, Mt. Lavinia, Ratmalana, Moratuwa and Panadura. Gateway College Negombo was the third branch to be started by the Gateway Group.

  • Maria Ly is quite literally a Rock Star. You’ll often find her hanging off a 5.13a grade rock climbing route, she is the rock star co-founder of Skimble (which is incubated by Rock Health), and you can find her rock formation photography featured in Outside Magazine.

  • March 13, 1988 was the day we moved to America. Although it wasn't my first time in the country, that date was the beginning of my journey through the American school system. Those eleven years filled me with a lifetime of great memories.
