Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College (NSET) is an engineering institution situated at Gill Park, Ludhiana, Punjab, India.It is one of the oldest engineering institutions in the northern region, established in 1953. Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College was established by the Nankana Sahib Education Trust [NSET]. NSET was founded in memory of the temple of Nankana Sahib, birth place of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Shiromani Guurdwara Prabhandak Committee, Amirtsar, an organization of universal motherhood, was the force behind the mission of 'Removal of Poverty through Technology'. With this mission, a polytechnic was started in 1950 and Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College was established. The Trust deed was registered on 24 February 1953 with a commitment by the Nankana Sahib Education Trust to uplift rural India by admitting students every year from rural areas. This commitment was made to the nation on 8 April 1956, the same day the foundation pebble of the college building was laid by Dr. Rajendra Prasad Ji, the first President of India.
