Maria Ly is quite literally a Rock Star. You’ll often find her hanging off a 5.13a grade rock climbing route, she is the rock star co-founder of Skimble (which is incubated by Rock Health), and you can find her rock formation photography featured in Outside Magazine.

Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology
Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), formerly known as the Kwangju Institute of Science and Technology (K-JIST), is a leading research oriented institute of Korea located in Gwangju, South Korea. Students in GIST can attend classes in institute and also participate in research. GIST was established by the South Korean government in 1993 as a research-oriented graduate school, and focuses on technology and education. Despite its relative small size, since its establishment, GIST has advanced from an unknown graduate school in South Korea to one of nation's most prestigious schools, ranking first in the number of publication per Professor in 2005. Today, GIST continues to develop itself into a world class research university. As of 2010, GIST had 151 faculty members, 506 Ph.D students, 417 M.S. students, 55 integrated students and 99 undergraduate students. The institute is organized into five departments Even though GIST is a Korean university, all of its courses are taught in English and M.S. theses and Ph.D. dissertations are written in English as well. In addition, admitted students benefit from tuition waiver and fee-free application.
