Little Priest Tribal College

Little Priest Tribal College in Winnebago, Nebraska, USA is an accredited college of the American Indian Higher Education Consortium (AIHEC). The college is primarily supported by the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska. In 1996 the Tribal Council of the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska withdrew from the Nebraska Indian Community College and chartered its own tribal college. The college was named after Little Priest, the last war chief of the Ho-Chunk people. The college offered academic courses and community education classes in August 1996. The two-year college was chartered as the education arm of the tribe and designed to offer an Associate's degree which would readily transfer to a four-year institution. Little Priest Tribal College was accredited during the summer of 1998. The college has been approved by the Bureau of Indian Affairs and is a member of the American Indian Higher Education Consortium. Wayne State College is its sponsoring accredited institution. Currently, it is a private non-for-profit school with enrollment figures of 110 students. The college offers 3 programs in the Associates level degree.

  • Maria Ly is quite literally a Rock Star. You’ll often find her hanging off a 5.13a grade rock climbing route, she is the rock star co-founder of Skimble (which is incubated by Rock Health), and you can find her rock formation photography featured in Outside Magazine.

  • March 13, 1988 was the day we moved to America. Although it wasn't my first time in the country, that date was the beginning of my journey through the American school system. Those eleven years filled me with a lifetime of great memories.
