Los Angeles Trade Technical College

Los Angeles Trade-Technical College (L.A. Trade-Tech) is a public community college in Los Angeles, California. It offers academic courses towards 4-year colleges and numerous vocational programs. It is most noted for its 2-year degree programs in Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, Culinary Arts, Cosmetology, Automotive Technology, Construction Technology, and Chemical Technology. Los Angeles Trade-Tech College is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. L.A. Trade-Tech is located in the southern edge of South Park, Downtown Los Angeles, near the Grand Avenue Station of the Metro Rail Blue Line, a rail station right in front of the college, and north of University of Southern California. It was first started as the Frank Wiggins Trade School in 1925. After World War II it became Metropolitan Polytechnical High School and later Metropolitan College. It became Trade-Technical Junior College as a community college in 1954. In 1969, the college merged with Los Angeles Community College District which currently holds nine member colleges.

  • Maria Ly is quite literally a Rock Star. You’ll often find her hanging off a 5.13a grade rock climbing route, she is the rock star co-founder of Skimble (which is incubated by Rock Health), and you can find her rock formation photography featured in Outside Magazine.

  • March 13, 1988 was the day we moved to America. Although it wasn't my first time in the country, that date was the beginning of my journey through the American school system. Those eleven years filled me with a lifetime of great memories.

  • Mayank is an inventor and zebra-enthusiast. He developed Stripespotter, a biological barcode scanner for zebras, and is a part of the team behind Facebook insights. By way of India to Oman to the US, Mayank can be found behind the wheel of a red Porsche dreaming up his next big idea.
