Macquarie College is a private primary and secondary school located in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia. It is part of the Seventh-day Adventist Church's worldwide educational system. Macquarie College began in July 1901 as the Junior School in the Newcastle suburb of Hamilton. In 1933 it moved to another location in Hamilton, and expanded to include both primary and secondary education. The school moved to its present location in the suburb of Wallsend in June 1994. Students from Macquarie College have performed well in state examinations. Macquarie College offers a sporting program giving students opportunities for selection to State and National levels. Sport classes are conducted by trained PE specialists. Students have the opportunity to compete in Athletics, Basketball, Cricket, Cross Country, Equestrian, Golf, Netball, Rugby Union, Tennis, Touch Football, Soccer, and Softball. Macquarie College Has a sporting rivalry with Avondale College & Brisbane Adventist College.
