The Karlshochschule International University (formerly known as Merkur International University of Applied Sciences) is a state approved private owned business school in the City of Karlsruhe, Germany. As a University of Applied Sciences, the courses are rated undergraduate, a consecutive master program will start in 2009. The Business School focuses on international markets and inter-cultural collaboration in Business. Since 2009, Karlshochschule is owned by a non-commercial foundation and the Karlsruhe Chamber of Industry an Commerce (6%). In 1903, the Merkur Akademie (M.A.I.) was founded. In 1992 the first Bachelor Programs were started. In 2004 "Merkur Internationale Fachhochschule - University of Applied Sciences" was founded and state approved, starting the first programs in 2005. On Mai 27, 2009 “Merkur Internationale Fachhochschule” was renamed to Karlshochschule International University. In 2009 programs were accredited by FIBAA.
