Mid-South Community College

Mid-South Community College (MSCC) is a public community college serving East Arkansas, located in West Memphis, Arkansas. MSCC serves approximately 2,000 students annually through its degree programs, technical courses, and community educational offerings. MSCC was established in 1992. Its original purpose was to provide vocational education for the region. The college is an independent institution of higher education and offers associates degrees and college courses toward "core" requirements for four-year schools. MSCC is governed by a seven-member Board of Trustees, appointed by the Governor. Each trustee serves a seven-year term which ends on June 30 of the final year. The MSCC Main Campus is located at 2000 West Broadway in West Memphis, and it includes a 64,000-square-foot (5,900 m) building named the Donald W. Reynolds Center for Academic Excellence, built in 2004 at a cost of 12 million dollars. The center includes the library, multimedia rooms, office space and food service areas.

  • Maria Ly is quite literally a Rock Star. You’ll often find her hanging off a 5.13a grade rock climbing route, she is the rock star co-founder of Skimble (which is incubated by Rock Health), and you can find her rock formation photography featured in Outside Magazine.

  • March 13, 1988 was the day we moved to America. Although it wasn't my first time in the country, that date was the beginning of my journey through the American school system. Those eleven years filled me with a lifetime of great memories.

  • Mayank is an inventor and zebra-enthusiast. He developed Stripespotter, a biological barcode scanner for zebras, and is a part of the team behind Facebook insights. By way of India to Oman to the US, Mayank can be found behind the wheel of a red Porsche dreaming up his next big idea.
