National College of Natural Medicine (NCNM) is a school of Naturopathic Medicine and Classical Chinese Medicine located in Portland, Oregon, United States. Founded in 1956, it is the oldest programmatically of the six accredited naturopathic medical schools in North America. Until July 1, 2006, NCNM was known as the National College of Naturopathic Medicine. The school has approximately 500 students. NCNM has two schools: The School of Naturopathic Medicine and the School of Classical Chinese Medicine. It offers three professional graduate degree programs: The Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine, Master of Science in Oriental Medicine, and Master in Acupuncture. These four year programs include extensive preparation and clinical practice in the art of holistic healing, and are fully accredited programs. NCNM's Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine is a four-year program that trains students to become holistic primary care physicians, while preparing graduates to sit for board examinations in states and provinces that license NDs (naturopathic physicians). The NCNM Clinic is a teaching clinic where licensed naturopathic doctors work with and train the medical students.
