Nicolet Area Technical College

Nicolet Area Technical College (also Nicolet College) is a technical (community) college in Rhinelander Wisconsin area. It is a member of the 16 schools in the Wisconsin Technical College System. The college offers a University Transfer program where students complete the first two years of a bachelor’s degree at Nicolet and then transfer to a four-year college or university. Many Nicolet University Transfer graduates transfer into the University of Wisconsin System. Typically, about 2,000 students enroll in credit classes at Nicolet each year. In all, it is estimated that 10,000 people utilize some aspect of the college each year. This includes students in the Academic Success program (GED, HSED, college prep); students enrolled in non-credit Business and Community Education and Outdoor Adventure Series classes; residents attending events in the Nicolet Live! Arts and Speakers Series and the Nicolet Art Gallery; utilizing the Nicolet College Library; and participating in the Learning in Retirement organization. The college has two campuses: the main Lake Julia Campus located one mile (1.6 km) south of Rhinelander on Hwy G and the Lakeland campus in Minocqua.

  • Maria Ly is quite literally a Rock Star. You’ll often find her hanging off a 5.13a grade rock climbing route, she is the rock star co-founder of Skimble (which is incubated by Rock Health), and you can find her rock formation photography featured in Outside Magazine.

  • March 13, 1988 was the day we moved to America. Although it wasn't my first time in the country, that date was the beginning of my journey through the American school system. Those eleven years filled me with a lifetime of great memories.
