Maria Ly is quite literally a Rock Star. You’ll often find her hanging off a 5.13a grade rock climbing route, she is the rock star co-founder of Skimble (which is incubated by Rock Health), and you can find her rock formation photography featured in Outside Magazine.

Richard J. Daley College
Richard J. Daley College is one of the seven City Colleges of Chicago with an enrollment of approximately 4500 students and 81 full-time faculty. The college was founded as William J. Bogan Junior College in 1960 and utilized classrooms in the evenings provided by William J. Bogan High School in the Ashburn neighborhood on the southwest side of Chicago. In 1970, the college moved to an interim campus in West Lawn neighborhood at 7500 S Pulaski Road, made of prefab buildings until the present campus was completed in 1981. In 1977, a week after the death of Richard J. Daley, the college was renamed in honor of the late mayor. Located at 7500 S. Pulaski, it is the school's main campus. The north side houses the adult education and technical education buildings as well as the faculty and staff parking lot. This side is adjacent to a US Army Reserve Training center. Located on the east side of campus (running parallel to Pulaski Rd.) is the tennis court; however, maintenance of the court has been neglected since the school's tennis team was disbanded in 1983. Plans to erect a meditation garden in its place are currently underway.

March 13, 1988 was the day we moved to America. Although it wasn't my first time in the country, that date was the beginning of my journey through the American school system. Those eleven years filled me with a lifetime of great memories.
