Roosevelt College

Roosevelt College is a private non-sectarian college system with five campuses in the Philippines. Named in honor of the American president Franklin D. Roosevelt, its former name was Roosevelt Memorial High School. It was founded in 1933 as Marikina Academy. The college offers courses from pre-school to postgraduate studies. Roosevelt College primarily serves the educational needs of the province of Rizal and eastern Metro Manila. Aside from Cainta campus, the flagship campus, Roosevelt College has campuses in Marikina City (the original school location), Cubao, San Mateo, and Rodriguez. To understand how Roosevelt College metamorphosed from what was then the Marikina Academy of 1933 to what it is today, we need to bring to light some significant precedent events that place within a span of 6 decades. Roosevelt College was born in 1945 as Roosevelt Memorial High School along the busy J.P. Rizal Street in Barrio San Roque, then a part of Rizal province. Marikina used to be an agricultural town.

  • Maria Ly is quite literally a Rock Star. You’ll often find her hanging off a 5.13a grade rock climbing route, she is the rock star co-founder of Skimble (which is incubated by Rock Health), and you can find her rock formation photography featured in Outside Magazine.

  • March 13, 1988 was the day we moved to America. Although it wasn't my first time in the country, that date was the beginning of my journey through the American school system. Those eleven years filled me with a lifetime of great memories.

  • Mayank is an inventor and zebra-enthusiast. He developed Stripespotter, a biological barcode scanner for zebras, and is a part of the team behind Facebook insights. By way of India to Oman to the US, Mayank can be found behind the wheel of a red Porsche dreaming up his next big idea.
