Saint Brendan's College

Saint Brendan's College is a Christian Brothers secondary school founded in 1956, and located in Woodbrook, Bray, Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown, Ireland. The grounds are located on the Dublin Road, just north of Bray. Although, officially, it is over the County Dublin border, it usually referred to as being in County Wicklow and part of Bray. The current building was opened on 5 September, 1956, and accommodates approximately 360 students. All bus routes pass through this road in order to get to Dublin, and these include the 45, 45A, 145, 84, 85, 184, and 185. The school celebrated its fiftieth year in 2006, thus marking its Golden Jubilee. This led to a presidential visit, and the go-ahead for an entirely new school building, due to begin construction in the summer of 2008. The main school building took in its first pupils in September 1960. It is two floors high and contains eleven classrooms, a sports hall, art room, technical graphics room, two woodwork rooms, a computer room, and two science labs. A prefab building is located opposite the main building, across a basketball court. It houses six classrooms.

  • Maria Ly is quite literally a Rock Star. You’ll often find her hanging off a 5.13a grade rock climbing route, she is the rock star co-founder of Skimble (which is incubated by Rock Health), and you can find her rock formation photography featured in Outside Magazine.

  • March 13, 1988 was the day we moved to America. Although it wasn't my first time in the country, that date was the beginning of my journey through the American school system. Those eleven years filled me with a lifetime of great memories.

  • Mayank is an inventor and zebra-enthusiast. He developed Stripespotter, a biological barcode scanner for zebras, and is a part of the team behind Facebook insights. By way of India to Oman to the US, Mayank can be found behind the wheel of a red Porsche dreaming up his next big idea.
