Shifa College of Medicine

Shifa College of Medicine is a highly selective medical school located in Islamabad, Pakistan 33°25′N 73°02′E / 33.41°N 73.04°E / 33.41; 73.04 and affiliated with Bahria University. The school was founded in 1999 by the Shifa Foundation, an organization developed by American-Pakistani physicians, with the intention of creating an institution which imparted medical knowledge on a level equivalent to medical schools in the United States. Shifa College of Medicine has set as its mission to graduate physicians for the 21st century who abide by the rigor of scientific discipline and are altruistic, humane, knowledgeable, skillful and dutiful to their profession and the society at large. The college is listed in the International Medical Education Directory (IMED), WHO Directory of Medical Schools, and is a member of International Association of Medical Regulatory Authority (IAMRA). The Shifa International Hospital was conceived and incorporated in 1985-1987 by a small group of Pakistani doctors and other health care professionals working in the United States. Since then Shifa has grown from over 450 contributing members to being a public limited company.

  • Maria Ly is quite literally a Rock Star. You’ll often find her hanging off a 5.13a grade rock climbing route, she is the rock star co-founder of Skimble (which is incubated by Rock Health), and you can find her rock formation photography featured in Outside Magazine.

  • March 13, 1988 was the day we moved to America. Although it wasn't my first time in the country, that date was the beginning of my journey through the American school system. Those eleven years filled me with a lifetime of great memories.
