St Peter's College, Auckland

St Peter's College ("SPC") is a Catholic college for year 7 to 13 boys (ages 11-18 years). The school is located in Auckland and is the largest Catholic school in New Zealand. It aims to educate the whole person in an environment of Christian love and service, adopting Jesus Christ as model. Under an integration agreement with the Government of New Zealand, St Peter's College has a maximum roll of 1200. St Peter's is located in the central Auckland suburb of Epsom, on the northern slopes of Mount Eden. St Peter's College draws enrolments from throughout the city, reflecting its central location and its easy accessibility from all the main transport conduits and services of Auckland. St Peter's boys come from all over Auckland. The roll as at 26 August 2009 was 1127 plus 52 international students. St Peter's College has a diverse, multicultural roll and its ethnic composition on that date was: NZ European/Pākehā 48%; Māori 6%; Chinese 11%; Samoan 7%; Indian 6%; South-East Asian 5%; Tongan 3%; Cook Island Māori 1%; Fijian 1%; Niue 1%; other Asian 3%; other European 3%; and other ethnicities 5%. There are approximately 127 paid staff (teaching and support staff).

  • Maria Ly is quite literally a Rock Star. You’ll often find her hanging off a 5.13a grade rock climbing route, she is the rock star co-founder of Skimble (which is incubated by Rock Health), and you can find her rock formation photography featured in Outside Magazine.
