The National Autonomous University of Honduras (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras) is the national public university of Honduras. It was founded in 1847 and has many campuses throughout the country. In October 15th of 1957 was decreted the autonomy of UNAH, since then UNAH have the 6 % of the budget of the goverment. The main campus is in the country's capital of Tegucigalpa and is home to the university's Medical School hospital and campus. Other major campuses include the San Pedro Sula Campus, the Comayagua Campus and the La Ceiba Campus. It is currently Honduras' largest university in terms of student enrollment and one of the largest university systems in Central America. UNAH Library sistem was founded in 1970, it have more than 16,000 volumes, internet website, electronic books, all campus in UNAH have its own library.
