Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN, Uniten, English: Tenaga National University) is a private research university located in Kajang, Selangor, Malaysia. UNITEN has five colleges with 15 academic departments offering engineering, information technology, business management programs and related areas. Universiti Tenaga Nasional is one of the earliest private universities in Malaysia. It is wholly owned by publicly listed Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), one of the largest electric utility companies in Asia. Universiti Tenaga Nasional prides itself on moving rapidly toward establishing itself as the regional center of education excellence by year 2020. The support and commitment it receives from its holding company, TNB, has enabled it to accelerate the infrastructure development of the campus. The curricula, further enhanced with project work, research, open-ended experiments and practical training, are designed with linkages with the industrial and commercial sectors as well as from local and foreign universities.
