The University of Konstanz (German: Universität Konstanz) is a university in the city of Konstanz in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It was founded in 1966, and the main campus on the Gießberg was opened in 1972. Today Konstanz University is counted among Germany's most prestigious institutions of higher learning and has a strong reputation as a research institution. The university has a sound international reputation as well and was ranked 12th in Germany, 76th in Europe and 186th in the world in 2010 by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
