François Rabelais University (Université François-Rabelais) or University of Tours, is a public university in Tours, France. The university is named after the French writer François Rabelais, and was founded in 1969. The university has five campuses, distributed across the city of Tours: Each academic year is divided into two semesters. The training is organized according to European architecture through the ranks of Licence (three years: 1-6 semesters), Master (two years: 7-10 semesters), Doctorat. Teachers may be contract teachers, lecturers, Professors from universities or business professionals. The main areas of training are offered at the University of Tours. They can move both to the specific professional (bachelor pro, master pro, engineer) than to the world of research (Doctorat degrees in medicine, pharmacy, law, music ...).
