University of Wisconsin-Green Bay

The University of Wisconsin–Green Bay (also known as UW–Green Bay, UWGB or GB) is a public university located in Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA. It is part of the University of Wisconsin System. UW–Green Bay, founded in 1965, originally had an environmental sustainability emphasis, and now offers a wide array of degrees. The university, unofficially, has the nickname "Eco U". Organizing theme:Connecting learning to life. The university's mascot is the Phoenix. In 2009, student enrollment was approximately 6,500, including 5,878 undergraduate students. In fall 2010, the official head count was 6,636. The freshman average ACT score was 22.6, with a high school GPA of 3.27. In Fall of 2009, student enrollment was approximately 6,500. The University of Wisconsin–Green Bay is a participant in Wisconsin's Growth Agenda, created by Governor Jim Doyle. Under the Growth Agenda, enrollment is expected to reach approximately 7,500 students. The University is home to the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts, which hosts entertainers and serves as a venue for artistic events. The Green Bay Symphony Orchestra also performs at the Weidner Center.

  • Maria Ly is quite literally a Rock Star. You’ll often find her hanging off a 5.13a grade rock climbing route, she is the rock star co-founder of Skimble (which is incubated by Rock Health), and you can find her rock formation photography featured in Outside Magazine.

  • March 13, 1988 was the day we moved to America. Although it wasn't my first time in the country, that date was the beginning of my journey through the American school system. Those eleven years filled me with a lifetime of great memories.
