Wenzao Ursuline College of Languages

The Wenzao Ursuline College of Languages is the only college devoted to languages in Taiwan. It awards A.A., B.S., and B.A. degrees, and recently has started to offer a Master's degree program. Students from abroad can get a visa to study Chinese in Taiwan at Wenzao Ursuline, as it is one of the only 28 Chinese Language Centers accredited by the Ministry of Education. It is a member of Association of Christian Universities and Colleges in Asia (ACUCA), a member of international collaborative exchange agreements. Wenzao Ursuline College for Languages, named after the first Chinese Bishop Luo Wenzao, was established in 1966 by Sisters of the Roman Union of the Order of St. Ursula as the Wenzao Ursuline Junior College of Modern Languages. The institution remained a female-only Junior College until 1980. After years of preparations, it became “Wenzao Ursuline College of Languages" in 1999, and the only college in Taiwan dedicated to languages. It preserved the junior college program in English, French, German, Spanish, and Japanese, two-year college and four-year college programs were add.

  • Maria Ly is quite literally a Rock Star. You’ll often find her hanging off a 5.13a grade rock climbing route, she is the rock star co-founder of Skimble (which is incubated by Rock Health), and you can find her rock formation photography featured in Outside Magazine.

  • March 13, 1988 was the day we moved to America. Although it wasn't my first time in the country, that date was the beginning of my journey through the American school system. Those eleven years filled me with a lifetime of great memories.

  • Mayank is an inventor and zebra-enthusiast. He developed Stripespotter, a biological barcode scanner for zebras, and is a part of the team behind Facebook insights. By way of India to Oman to the US, Mayank can be found behind the wheel of a red Porsche dreaming up his next big idea.
