Wheelers Hill High School as it was initially named, commenced in 1980 with 96 students and 9 teachers. The buildings consisted of four general classrooms, 3 specialist rooms, a library and an administration office. In 1981 the enrolment was boosted by 164 new Year 7 students and an additional 14 Year 8 students. Student enrolment in 2008 was 540 with an initial Year 7 enrolment of 97 students.
