Aureus University School of Medicine - Aruba, formerly known as All saints university of medicine has a U.S.-based-curriculum medical school. It was founded in 2004, and is located on the Caribbean island of Aruba. Aureus University School of Medicine - Aruba enrolls classes three times a year: January, May, and September. Students complete their didactic education on the island in four semesters and upon successful completion, students move onto a pre-clinical fifth semester in the United States. After completing the 5th semester, students sit for the USMLE Step 1 exam, and then continue on in clinical clerkships at hospitals throughout the United States. Upon completion of the curriculum, similar to that of US medical schools, students must pass the USMLE Step 2 CS and USMLE Step 2 CK, prior to graduation. AUSOM is accredited through the Government of the Island of Aruba to confer Doctor of Medicine degrees upon successful completion of the Doctor of Medicine program. AUSOM is listed with both IMED and the ECFMG. Graduates are able to sit for the USMLE exam. Additionally, Graduates are eligible to apply to sit for the Canadian licensing exams.
