Anna Maria College

Anna Maria College (AMC) is a coeducational Catholic liberal arts college in Paxton, Massachusetts. Anna Maria College was founded in 1946 as an all-women's school by the Sisters of Saint Anne. The school's original campus was in Marlboro, Massachusetts. It moved to Paxton in 1952. The 180-acre (0.73 km) campus is located in Paxton, Massachusetts. Anna Maria offers both undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Anna Maria is a member of the Colleges of Worcester Consortium and accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. It has its largest enrollments in criminal justice, business, education, and the ASN (Associate in Nursing) degree program. Anna Maria has 15 Division III athletic teams (the "Amcats") in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) including football, men’s tennis, women’s tennis, men’s lacrosse, and women’s lacrosse. It is a member of The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC). In 2009 it began fielding a football team. The school's president stated that football would help change the profile of Anna Maria, which many people still thought of as a women's school.

Student Stories

  • Maria Ly is quite literally a Rock Star. You’ll often find her hanging off a 5.13a grade rock climbing route, she is the rock star co-founder of Skimble (which is incubated by Rock Health), and you can find her rock formation photography featured in Outside Magazine.

  • March 13, 1988 was the day we moved to America. Although it wasn't my first time in the country, that date was the beginning of my journey through the American school system. Those eleven years filled me with a lifetime of great memories.

  • Mayank is an inventor and zebra-enthusiast. He developed Stripespotter, a biological barcode scanner for zebras, and is a part of the team behind Facebook insights. By way of India to Oman to the US, Mayank can be found behind the wheel of a red Porsche dreaming up his next big idea.
