Beirut Arab University (BAU) (Arabic: جـامعة بيروت العربية‎) is a private international accredited university located in Beirut, Lebanon. It was founded by the Lebanese El-Bir and Ihsan Society in 1960. The university is academically affiliated to Alexandria University in Egypt and officially accredited according to article (17) of the Lebanese Higher Education Law issued on 26 December 1961. Beirut Arab University is a member of: BAU includes ten faculties: Beirut Arab University is located in the city of Beirut, and was originally subsidized by the government of the late Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser. The university is academically affiliated to Alexandria University in Egypt, which provides BAU with highly qualified staff members, and awards its graduates their degrees. University objectives include the service of Lebanon and the Arab Nation, by offering Lebanese and Arab students a modern first rate education in various areas of academic study.
