The Bournemouth and Poole College

The Bournemouth and Poole College is a further education establishment based in Bournemouth and Poole on the south coast of England. It is one of the larger UK colleges catering for an average of 24,000 learners each year, and it is a member of the 157 Group of high performing schools. The College runs over 1,000 courses in seven Learning and Development Academies: The Academy for Health and Social Care offers students professional and vocational qualifications in Social Care, Health Care, Counselling and Child Care. The Academy for Service Industries provides courses in Hospitality, Catering, Hairdressing, Beauty, Holistic Therapies, Floristry and Tourism. The Catering Department students have attended work experience at the Savoy and Claridges in the past. The college operates eight centres in Bournemouth and Poole. The three largest centres are Lansdowne (in Bournemouth), and North Road and Constitution Hill (in Poole). This centre is located a short walk from the town centre and is where the Service Industries (catering, hair and beauty, public services, etc), one of the two sixth forms, and many of the Management and Leadership based courses are based.

  • Maria Ly is quite literally a Rock Star. You’ll often find her hanging off a 5.13a grade rock climbing route, she is the rock star co-founder of Skimble (which is incubated by Rock Health), and you can find her rock formation photography featured in Outside Magazine.

  • March 13, 1988 was the day we moved to America. Although it wasn't my first time in the country, that date was the beginning of my journey through the American school system. Those eleven years filled me with a lifetime of great memories.
