Chaoyang University of Technology (abbreviation CYUT, Traditional Chinese: 朝陽科技大學; Simplified Chinese: 朝阳科技大学) is located in Wufeng District of Taichung City, Taiwan. Founded in 1994. Originally named Chaoyang Institute of Technology. on August 1, 1997, Chaoyang Institute of Technology was designated by the Ministry of Education as a University of Technology, the school name was officially changed to Chaoyang University of Technology, was Taiwan's first private University of Technology. It currently has 5 colleges, 2PhD programs, 17 Master's Programs, and 19 departments. There is also an Office of Research and Development, Evening Division, General Education Center, Continuing Education Center, Business Incubation Center, and College of Enterprise Innovation. Chaoyang University of Technology was founded in 1994 through the generosity of Dr. Tien-sheng Yang, the President of the Ever Fortune Group, a major R.O.C.'s conglomerate, in memory of his parents, and in return for the support he received throughout the years from the people and communities of central Taiwan.
