Chitkara University is a private university located at Barotiwala, Himachal Pradesh, India. The university curriculum focuses on undergraduate and postgraduate engineering and business management studies. Chitkara University was set up under Section 2 (f) of UGC Act 1956 by the Himachal Pradesh State Legislature under Himachal Pradesh Private Universities (Establishment and Regulation) Act 2006. The Act has been notified through Government of Himachal Pradesh Gazette Notification No. EDN-A-Gha (8)6/2006 dated April 29, 2008. Approved by the University Grants Commission under section 2(f) of the UGC Act, the University commenced academic activities from September 2008. The campus of the University is located within the HIMUDA Education Hub, Atal Nagar at Kallujhanda near Barotiwala, District Solan, Himachal Pradesh, India. The campus is about 32 Km from Chandigarh city. The university boasts of highly qualified staff with a lot of experience. Most of the faculty had studied from the prestigious institutions of India.
