The E. J. Ourso College of Business is Louisiana State University's business school. Originally founded in 1928 as the College of Commerce, the name was changed in 1959 to the College of Business Administration when a reorganization occurred. In 1996, E. J. Ourso was added to honor the college’s benefactor, and the latest change occurred in 2005 when the name was officially shortened by dispensing with Administration. The E. J. Ourso College of Business offers undergraduate programs in accounting, economics, information systems and decision science, management, marketing and finance. The college is home to several noteworthy institutes and offers several different graduate levels of study. It is also home to one of five programs recognized internationally by the Institute of Internal Auditors, earning the Center for Internal Auditing Excellence title. Louisiana State University was chosen in 1985 to be the pilot program for a university-level internal auditing training program. It is certified by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
